Brighter Till Full Day
Bible Text: Proverbs 4:18–19"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."
— Proverbs 4:18Someone who rose early to watch the sunrise described how gradually the light actually comes. There is no single moment when darkness becomes day. It lightens by degrees, so slowly that you cannot point to when it changed, until you realize you can see clearly what was hidden an hour before. The full light does not arrive all at once. It grows.
Proverbs 4:18 says: "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." This is how following God tends to work. Not a floodlight switched on at the start, but a path that grows clearer the longer you walk it. What was uncertain becomes clearer. What you could not understand begins to make sense in hindsight.
This is the encouragement to end the week on. If the way still feels dim in places, that is not a sign you are off the path. It is the nature of the path itself. It brightens as you go.
Keep walking. The light that has led you this far is still growing. What is unclear now will be clearer further on. The path of the righteous shines ever brighter, all the way to full day.
Reflect on This
- Looking back, where can you see that a path which once felt dim has grown clearer over time? How does that encourage you about what feels unclear now?
- The promise is that the light grows as you walk. What would it look like to keep walking faithfully this week, trusting the way will brighten?
Lord, thank You that Your path grows brighter the longer I walk it. Where the way still feels dim, give me the faith to keep going, trusting that clarity comes as I follow. Lead me on toward the full light of day.
